Statement

Estia Health confirms an employee has been charged by NSW Police with a number of offences. The offences relate to the employee’s time at our home at Epping.

The safety and wellbeing of our residents is our foremost priority. We do not tolerate any form of abuse or mistreatment of our residents.

As soon as we became aware of the allegations, we contacted the families of those residents involved and also informed the police and Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. The employee was also immediately stood down.

Estia Health has also engaged an independent investigator to review the matter. We will continue to cooperate with police and the regulator.

As the matter is before the courts, we are unable to make further comment at this time.
