Residents and staff of Estia Health Taree recently took part in the World's Greatest Shave, raising more than $3000 for the Leukaemia Foundation. The day was coordinated by staff members Louise Watson and Fleur Collins and the event formed part of Estia Health's St Patrick's Day celebrations.
"There was so much fun and laughter throughout the whole day, we look forward to doing it all again next year!"
It was well attended by staff and residents alike. Staff and residents volunteered to have their heads shaved or coloured in support of the charity, culminating in Estia Health's very own Louise Watson shaving her head.
Executive director Dallas had his beard coloured with red, green and purple glitter spray - Dallas no longer sports hair on his head. Because of the overwhelming support by residents and staff at the Taree facility, Estia Health managed to raise awareness for the cause, as well as more than $3000 in donations. "The Estia Health Taree family is proud of this effort and an enjoyable day was had by all," Louise said. "There was so much fun and laughter throughout the whole day, we look forward to doing it all again next year!"
