A century of memories for a special member of Estia’s Merrylands family

Last Monday, a treasured member of the Estia Health Merrylands home celebrated their 100th birthday!

A morning of streamers, balloons, and a decadent cake – so big, that everyone at the Estia home could enjoy a piece – Mavis and her visiting family from Queensland, enjoyed a celebratory morning tea, reflecting on a century of fond memories.

While Mavis also got to enjoy a bigger celebration with extended family the day prior, the home also wanted to make sure to host their own celebrations with Mavis and her loved ones.

“Mavis has only been with us here for a short while,” reflected Estia Merrylands Executive Director Jenny Mock. “Though, she’s quickly become a very important part of our Estia Merrylands family. We definitely wanted to celebrate with Mavis and her family and friends, on such a milestone day!”

Visitors for the day included Mavis’ friends from Ermington’s Senior Club, where Mavis had been president for over 35 years.

A special mention to Estia’s Lifestyle staff, Athena, Sarah and Nicole, who created the large ‘100’ shaped figurine (below), as well as organised all the decorations.
