We're celebrating some of the contributions of Estia Health's volunteers for national volunteer week.
Anita first came to be a volunteer at our home after her mum, Dorothy, passed away. Anita was a wonderful support to her mum and to other residents and employees in the home whilst her mum was a resident here. Shortly after Dorothy passed away, Anita realised what a large part of Estia Health Salisbury East had become in her life and decided she wanted to continue to service residents by way of becoming a volunteer.
The activities that Anita is involved with include manicures, high teas, 1:1 emotional support to our residents and reading groups. Anita also created a memory album memorial display where deceased residents are celebrated by displaying their photo, verse and small piece about each resident. It is a beautiful way that each of our residents can say a final goodbye to their friends.
We have missed Anita’s presence greatly during the COVID-19 restrictions and we are excited to have her back as soon as the restrictions are lifted. "
