Wellness Centre

Providing personalised programs designed to improve physical and mental health through EstiaPlus.

Kevin’s goal

Our Estia Health Blakehurst resident Kevin York talks about his experience, particularly the benefits of the home’s onsite Wellness Centre, which offers specially designed physiotherapy and allied health services as part of a premium service.

Kevin said his goal was to regain fitness and not need a walker. He has been going to the gym every day, using specialised equipment and doing physiotherapy sessions which have resulted in a great improvement of his balance. Now Kevin feels singificantly more confident to walk.

Enhanced functional ability and wellness

Our on-site wellness centres provide enhanced physiotherapy, rehabilitation and other allied health services for our residents and the wider community. These services are delivered by Concentric, experts in aged care specific physiotherapy and allied health services.

The wellness centre supports the care we provide at the home, with personalised programs tailored to help our residents improve both mentally and physically. Residents can participate in weekly classes, meet new people, and socialise while working towards their goals. They can also regain a level of independence without having to leave the home for appointments.

The wellness centre is also now being used to provide care to respite residents who come to the home specifically for these services. This means that they'll be able to avoid seeking rehabilitation and reablement services in hospital.

Concentric offers a variety of allied health services, such as Occupational therapy and Physiotherapy, both in the clinic and in the community. They’re a unique multidisciplinary allied health provider supporting people with a disability and the elderly.

Working together as a team, they bring together Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Speech Pathologists, and Psychologists. This allows clinicians with different backgrounds and views to work together to find solutions which help clients to achieve their potential.
Concentric supports the Estia Health team and the care they provide. They will be focused on working closely with every person that comes into the wellness centre, to understand their unique needs tailor a program that will help them define and reach their goals.
