Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why is the home closing, and why now?
The decision has been made to redevelop the land into a modern, thoughtfully designed residential aged care home for the region, offering 108 residential aged care places. Options to stage the redevelopment were investigated but they are not feasible due to the small size of the site.
Once the decision is made to redevelop a home, it is not practical to continue to operate in the medium-term as residents find new accommodation and employees leave to find new employment. It is felt that approximately five weeks is the optimal timeframe to ensure the most effective transition and move period for everyone involved.
