Estia Health Epping NSW’s recent resident Art Exhibition was more than a showcase of talent.

It was a joyful celebration of imagination and extraordinary stories that bloom when people are given space, and encouragement, to create. It was in every sense, life being enriched and celebrated together.

Guest were welcomed into a space alive with colour, texture and emotion. Each artwork invited its own moment of reflection, its own conversation between creator and viewer. And at the heart of it all were our residents, beaming with pride.

Over 85 guests and residents filled the space, mingling over drinks and canapes. Shane, our Residential Aged Care Manager, and Michelle, our Art Therapist, both spoke, sharing some beautiful words on what the evening meant to our residents, our employees, and Michelle herself.

Then came the art. From bold abstracts to intricate sketches, the diversity of styles and mediums on display reflected not just skill, but the personal expression each resident brought to their work.

A treasured moment of the evening was watching residents share their inspiration and little details behind their creations to our guests.

The atmosphere was warm and a sense of share appreciation seemed to settle over the room, lingering long after the final artwork sold.

By the end of the evening, the vast majority of works had been sold, raising an incredible $2,080 which our artists proudly and generously donated to Dementia Australia. It was a gesture as moving as the art itself.

As the evening ended, everyone had the same question: “When is the next Art Exhibition?”

Watch this space.
