Family Fun at Estia Health Tea Gardens

You’re invited to a day of fun in support of the Tea Gardens’ Lions club when aged care home Estia Health Tea Gardens open its doors for a day of fun activities for all ages.

With a bustling marketplace, trash & treasure stalls, food vendors and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day, Estia Health Tea Gardens is pulling out all the stops to raise funds for this local charity.

Visitors at this open day can look forward to a day of free entertainment and performances, free Devonshire tea, coffee and scones in home’s café as well as a sausage sizzle, fairy floss and lots of other tasty food offerings at the market. Kids will be entertained by a bouncing castle, a balloon twister as well as face painting, while adults can enjoy song and dance performances by line dancers, a ukulele group and Gus’ Bush Ballads. Alzheimer’s Australia has brought their Memory Van to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s Disease.

“Support from the community has been overwhelming so far, and we have some great sponsored gifts entering the afternoon raffle,” says Jennie Armstrong executive director at the Tea Gardens nursing home. She is mainly looking forward to inviting people from the local community into the home, to see the beautiful space and meet with the residents. “…this and raising money for a good cause of course.”

Community interests groups are already frequent visitors at the Tea Gardens residence, which is host to the local Parkinson’s support group’s monthly meetings. The home also features a very popular café and community hub which provide a great setting for residents and their visiting families and friends.

Becoming older should not be synonymous with becoming isolated,” reflects Jennie Hodge, Client Relations Manager at Estia Health. “By opening the home to community groups and arranging events such as our Family Fun Day, Estia Health Tea Gardens is bringing the community to its residents by creating a fun experience across generations and help bridge the gap between residents and community.”
